My real name is not Max Bailey.
I understand that many many people get into blogging as a way of gaining name recognition in their specialty and becoming a clear authority figure along the way. That is not my goal. My sole purpose in creating this blog is to make helpful information available to you, the reader. I am not interested in branding myself or gaining any sort of fame. Because of that, I make the choice to remain anonymous. If following a fully transparent and warm blogger is important to you, then this might not be the right place for you to follow.
Although this is a personal finance blog, I am not a licensed financial adviser. I am also not an expert on economics, investing, accounting, or any other fiscal-related field. I do have a college education, but I have never once taken a class on any of these subjects. I learned all that I know through experience. Thankfully, I was blessed to have good role models along the way that could give me advice when I really needed it. But I know that many people are not so lucky.
I think it’s a grave mistake of our society to not mandate any sort of coursework in personal finance at the high school level. One of the reasons that I believe so many young people get off on the wrong foot moneywise when they enter into adult life is because of that lack of formal education on the subject. It’s what leads incoming college students into borrowing tens of thousands of dollars to pay for their college tuition without even really understanding what a loan is.
I created this blog out of a passion to set things right. I know I am only one person and a person without any “expert” credentials at that. But I have always believed that anyone can make at least a small difference if they put some effort into what drives them and even that small difference is still far, far better than no difference at all.
I hope you find this information useful. No matter where you are in your own financial journey, I believe that with the right tools you can make things better. I hope to provide you with as many of those tools as possible. What you choose to do with them is your own decision. If after all of my work in setting up this blog only leads to one person getting into a better place with money, I will consider my time here a success.
Peace!
